Hi, my name is Kate Jeffery.
I am a Registered Psychologist and Child and Family Therapist with 15 years experience working with families, couples and individuals from all walks of life. I have a Graduate Diploma in Child and Family therapy and I currently specialise in working with young people from 10 – 25 years and offer therapeutic support to their parents and family when helpful. I also have extensive experience working with adults in individual therapy.
The Banksia Room is a safe and peaceful space to talk about anything you or a family member may be struggling with. It’s a place where you will be listened to with kindness, respect and without judgement. Together we work towards facing your struggles with self compassion, creativity, courage and humour.
I use a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Adolescent Development and responsive connected parenting models.
We all experience times of difficulty (myself included!). The process of therapy can help you feel that you are not alone and assists you in becoming more connected to yourself and the people that matter to you – creating clarity to explore and choose the changes you want to make in your life.
Whether you are a young person, adult or parent in need of some time to care for yourself and or your family, the Banksia Room is here for you.
